HIGHWAY 44 RESURFACING & PIPE WORK

FARMINGDALE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says an asphalt mill and resurfacing project on Highway 44 east of Rapid City will be beginning Monday, April 20, 2020. 

The project includes milling the current asphalt surfacing and placing new asphalt concrete surfacing on Highway 44. Miscellaneous pipe work and repair to bridge ends and guardrail are also part of the project. 

Traffic will be reduced to one lane with flaggers while workers are present. Traffic can expect 10-minute delays.  

The prime contractor on this $2.7 million project is Simon Contractors, Inc. of Rapid City.
