SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Starting Monday, April 20, the South Dakota Department of Transportation will resume construction on Interstate 29 from the I-90/I-29 interchange to the Exit 121 rest stop. At the same time, construction will begin on Highway 32 from I-29 to Flandreau.

I-29 will be open to thru traffic but reduced to one lane in either direction periodically. Each lane reduction will be limited to five miles in length to keep traffic flowing smoothly.

Highway 32 will be open to traffic but reduced to one lane and controlled with flaggers and a pilot car. Access for local traffic will be maintained throughout the project.

This crack sealing work is being done on both new and aging concrete to prevent damage and extend the life of the pavement.

The prime contractor on this $395,000 project is Asphalt Surface Technologies (Astech) from St. Joseph, Minnesota.

The overall completion date for this project is June 20, 2020.
