Due to the continued impact of the strong winter storm system moving through the state, the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) anticipates additional closures on Interstate 90 and Interstate 29.
Interstate 90 Closing From Rapid City to Wyoming State Line

A closure on Interstate 90 (both eastbound and westbound) is planned from Rapid City to the Wyoming state line beginning at 2 p.m. (MT) / 3 p.m. (CT) on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022.
Interstate 90 Closing From Chamberlain to Rapid City

Due to freezing rain, heavy snow, and high winds, Interstate 90 will be closed both eastbound and westbound from Chamberlain (exit 265) to Rapid City (exit 67) beginning at 9 a.m. (MT)/10 a.m. (CT) on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022.

Due to a strong winter storm system predicted to bring freezing rain, substantial snow totals, low visibility, drifting snow and high winds, closures on portions of Interstate 29 and 90 are expected on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022.
Due to Winter Storm, In-Person Public Meeting in Kimball for Proposed Project on S.D. Highway 34 Canceled, Virtual Option Available

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) says that due to severe winter weather conditions potentially impacting the State of South Dakota, the in-person public meeting open house scheduled at Kimball High School on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, has been canceled.
