SDDOT Partners with AGC and Area Contractors to Engage Youth and Families in Work Zone Awareness

Construction season is officially underway and to help raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving in work zones, the Associated General Contractors of South Dakota (AGC) and the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) recently announced the winners for the annual work zone awareness billboard campaign.
Bridge Repair to Begin on S.D. Highway 18 West of Hot Springs This Week

The South Dakota Department of Transportation says crews will begin bridge repair on S.D. Highway 18 at mile marker 20.53, west of Hot Springs between Minnekahta Junction and Edgemont, on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.
Construction to Begin on Interstate 229 in Sioux Falls from Exit 2 at Western Avenue to Exit 1 at Louise Avenue

Starting Monday, May 17, 2021, the South Dakota Department of Transportation says crews will begin pavement repair on southbound Interstate 229 starting from Exit 2 at Western Avenue in the auxiliary lane for ½ mile.
Interstate 90, Exit 59 Westbound On-Ramp Temporary Closure Scheduled in Late May

The South Dakota Department of Transportation says the Interstate 90 westbound on-ramp at Exit 59 (N LaCrosse Street) will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, to all vehicle traffic. Westbound motorists are requested to follow the detours, and use Exit 58 at Haines Avenue, as an alternate route.
Structure Replacement to Begin East of Onida
