South Dakota Transportation Commission Awards $4 Million in Economic Development Grants

At the South Dakota Transportation Commission meeting held on Thursday Dec. 21, 2023, commissioners awarded $4.4 million in economic development grants for infrastructure improvements to counties and smaller communities across South Dakota.
SDDOT Receives Rural Surface Transportation Grant for U.S. Highway 385 Safety Improvement Project in Pennington County

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) will receive approximately $67 million from FY2023-2024 Rural Surface Transportation Grant funds for highway safety improvements on the U.S. Highway 385 reconstruction project in Pennington County.
S.D. Highway 46 to Reopen to Through Traffic Near Irene

S.D. Highway 46, from U.S. Highway 81 to the west edge of the City of Irene, is scheduled to reopen to through traffic on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023.
SDDOT Seeks Public Input into the U.S. Highway 16 Corridor Study Sub-Area Analysis in Rapid City

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with the City of Rapid City, Pennington County, and the Rapid City Area MPO, will hold a public meeting open house at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14 2023, at Black Hills Energy, located at 7001 Mount Rushmore Rd. in Rapid City.
Closure Planned on S.D. Highway 204 (Over Oahe Dam) for COE Field Inspection

Beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, S.D. Highway 204 (across the Oahe Dam) will be closed between S.D. Highway 1806 in Stanley County and S.D. Highway 1804 in Hughes County to allow the COE to conduct a required field inspection.
